Why are men obsessed with breasts?

This may seem like a rather rhetorical question to most guys but it is a question I get a lot from different women and I think it deserves a fair and balanced (if albeit tongue in cheek) approach and answering male obsessions.

Any person observing comic book fandom has observed that comics by and large are written by nerdy dorky men for nerdy dorky men. Sure, there are some nerdy and dorky female adherents to the comic book fandom but fact is… You can easily point to where appeal is meant to be drawn.

Such as this fine example...

Or this...
Or even this...

The key you find to all of this busty bucksome geek bate is this: it’s all about the visual appeal.

I can’t say all guys are visually stimulated. Some guys are auditory, some through scent, some are very tactile. But for the guys who are attracted to large breasts, it is about initially the visual appeal.

Not all men find breasts the first visually attractive feature. For some of us…

It's all about the eyes...

For some of us...
It's all about the great legs... Or feet..

For some of us...
It's all about the great backside.
(I admit, in my "old age" this is where I find myself concentrating. :)

And yet for others...

It's all about the sultry hot lips.

But for all of these amazing features, most all men are hardwired to at least glance at a pair of breasts when presented the opportunity.

Fact is ladies, it is genetically programmed into us and nurtured into us from birth.

Breasts represent food, nurturing warmth, love, life, comfort, loving adoration, and all things maternal. We on a genetic level seek out the most prominent feature of a woman who represents this life giving trait we ourselves were nurtured with as a child. Not all of us were blessed with a mother of "ample bosoms". But we often tend to seek out at least the rough equivalent of what our mothers used to have.

Society dictates to us that “sexy” and “attractive” women have the largest breasts. From Jayne Mansfield to Katy Perry, we are paraded with an ever shapely and ample pare of bosoms we are told we must gaze at and adore. It is perhaps in and of itself a form of goddess worship. One need only look at the slow running of Pamela Anderson on Baywatch to get the general gist of the marketing machine.

I can’t say that all men obsess on the giant breasts. Because I myself don’t obsess on giant breasts. (As stated, backsides are what I gaze at more these days.)

I can say there are at least some scientific explanations for why some men glance and others obsess.

My own offered opinions however…

Men like to obsess over something. We have a desire to find something to occupy our time with. Genetically we might be hardwired to chase something we find possibly reproductively appealing, but that’s only upon initial glances.

We men crave something to occupy our minds to. Humans (not just men) are sexually driven beings who try to find reasons to catalog the driving urges we all have. Men, just happen to be allowed in our society to admit to thinking about sex. In fact, we are often encouraged to boast about our sexual thoughts and exploits. A notion I don’t approve of, time and place for everything and all that.

We therefore find men often openly discussing the size, shape, and wonder of a pair of captivating breasts because its encouraged for us to do so. We are admonished to talk about it amongst friends to appear to be “one of the guys”. In fact, not doing so is strongly frowned upon.

As a guy growing up, if we didn’t often discuss the breasts of the girls we knew, we were seen as a “fag”, a “queer”, or a “freak” rather than just a guy with the common sense and decency to keep his thoughts to himself. When you’re a kid growing up in a small coastal town in Oregon, there are few epithets and insults you can live down quite like being called “gay”. In fact, often times being labeled as such… Could mean your life was in Jeopardy.

So, we go toe the line and make up stories about the size and shape of the breasts we’d touched or licked or whatever…

I sadly regret many of those conversations in all honesty. I know I’ve hurt a few rather quality ladies in the process. But I digress. Ladies, I pray one day you forgive me.

To be honest… Men have a lot of societal pressure thrust upon them as well. We just don’t talk about that aspect.

I will say this, because I think it needs to be said. Big breasts, small breasts, medium sized… It matters not. Your beauty ladies is not in the simple size of your breasts. Your true beauty first and foremost comes from your personal sense of value and self-esteem. Your confidence as it were. The sexiest thing about a woman is not “she who bares all”, but she who carries what she has with confidence and grace.

As an added addendum, I do support breast cancer awareness. I believe cancer in general is a horrible killer and I believe breast cancer is a horrible killer of women. Therefore, please support initiatives like this:

Gentlemen... Please try to control yourselves. A lady deserves respect and adoration.

it sort of all makes sense, but....honestly, let a guy take a peek and he gets all stupid. they must have magical mind altering superpowers. indeed, the larger the boobage of our female comic book character the more awesome her superpowers.
its like kypotonyte, for regular guys.

  2. At some level I have to say that its also because they are the only major sexual feature that is allowed to be put on display prominetly in public.

Certinally a girl can wear a skirt or slacks that outline their thighs, or ass, or wear makeup that draws attention to their eyes...

..but really women have primary sex features and organs, and only one of them can be put on display.

Womens clothing is often designed to put them on display too, and we know we can look so many of us cant help but look.

I have always been a breast man, even in my age it lingers. Certinally I like pretty eyes and a nice ass..but I dont think ive ever chased a girl that had less than D's *chuckle*
